I haven't seen much on this board about stores closing. Tried searching for it and couldn't find anything. So, just thought I would throw this out there.

My two local GameStops (Sterling, VA and Reston, VA) are gone, very quickly and quietly. No "closing sale", no hint of "going out of business" or "moving to new location". Just gone... signage removed... store empty... with "For Lease" signs on the windows. I cannot tell you when they closed exactly, other than to say it was in 2010.

If I lived in an area hit hard by recession or if these stores were in "dead shopping centers", I would understand. But both of these stores are in Northern Virginia, in counties #1 and #2 on the Forbes list of Top 25 Richest Counties in America, and both centers have busy grocery store anchors and decent traffic.

Anyone else seeing unannounced Gamestop store closings?
