I was VERY impressed with the Gamestop on Shephard/Westheimer Houston. Very low overhead - friendly, smart manager, and games priced cheaper than Target, according to my son(who watches that very closely). We bought a new game for $60, and a couple of used games for $30 and $10. They have the "EDGE" card, which gives you 10% off on used games and on trade-ins, + you get a free subscription to their magazine, Gameinformer. It costs $15 - so we got it.
The store is pretty small - but big enough. The square footage was < 900 sf. Staff of 2 at 2:00-2:30p. Early dismissal on Wed. at some schools meant some kids were mingling. Neat and organized, with one smart, articulate 24 yr. old manager and a nice, competent assistant.
I talked awhile with the manager, and he says reservations for big titles are very brisk. He anticipates a very good holiday season.
