(Just venting here. No questions. Feel free to skip this if you dislike whining.)

Last Wednesday (8 days ago) I took triplet #3 to my local hospital's after-hours clinic.

She had a bad sore throat, so they did a rapid strep test which came back negative. They said they'd send it out for a culture, and let us know if it came back positive. They said they'd have the results in 48 hours.

Today, they called to tell me the results were positive. Not 48 hours later, but about 168 hours later!

Arrggg!

Today another kid started exhibiting minor cold symptoms (but no sore throat).

I called our regular pediatrician who asked me to bring in all the kids. He did strep tests on all of them, and 3 came back positive! (Including 1 kid who had no complaints or any signs of illness.)

We discussed the possibility of one or more of our kids being carriers (or maybe even me or my wife). And he wrote three Rxs for antibiotics.

In 10 days we're supposed to go back and they'll do the test again. If it' positive again, they'll bring out the heavy antibiotic guns. (I think he mentioned Clindamycin.)

I told my wife we should just have a tanker truck come to the house to deliver antibiotics!
