Just because something is cheap on the Steam sale does not make it a good value.

I love the idea of Stronghold but the third iteration is horrible. It's buggy (crashes, graphics, and knights who can't mount horses), it places disease where you can't cure it, the AI is atrocious, and the winning conditions are messed up. I only played the 5 single player missions but can't be bothered going any further. I got to try out most things but still, the large round tower with a bazillion archers still trumps everything.

Don't waste your money on it.
