Suggestions so far (from the Pet Lovers board) include badger, wolverine, bearcat and raccoon dog. None of them seem right. Raccoon dog was close, I think, but the whiskers don't match.

It looks like something in the cat family. Doesn’t look like a badger (See; http://images.ask.com/fr?q=picture+of+a+badger&desturi=h... ), wolverine (See; http://www.mnn.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/node-galle... ) and the face of the raccoon dog and tail doesn’t seem to be close (See; http://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mo... ). The closest thing that I have found is in The family Viverridae (See; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viverridae ), possibly a crossbreed.
;-)

C.J.V. - but something in the cat family, yes
