When I first began trading, one of my friends introduced me to the Pristine swing/day trading system. I still use what I learned to some extent, and I often swing trade when the market is trendless over the intermediate term, as it has been for much of the last year. The following are the formulas for what Pristine calls its "Key Buy Set-up" and "Key Short Set-up."
"The Pristine Key Buy Set-up":
C2 < C3 AND C1 < C2 AND C < C1 AND H2 < H3 AND H1 < H2 AND H <= H1 AND L2 < L3 AND L1 < L2 AND L < L1 AND C2 < O2 AND C1 < O1
"The Pristine Key Short Set-up":
C2 > C3 AND C1 > C2 AND C > C1 AND H2 > H3 AND H1 > H2 AND H > H1 AND L2 > L3 AND L1 > L2 AND L >= L1 AND C2 > O2 AND C1 > O1
As with my "Quasi-Weinstein" formula, I also add minimum price and volume requirements to these formulas to narrow the field when running scans.
If anyone is interested in my approach to using these formulas, I'd be more than happy to share that information. I'm not sure how many people here will be interested in swing trading, though, so let me know if it's something you'd be interested in learning more about.
Peace, dreamer
