Take out key man insurance, lots of it!

All kinds of dangers lurk thereabouts, from the rock haulers to the occasional animal jumping in front of yer cycle. Those things are animal magnets, if ya know what I mean! Plan on camping....hauling a small trailer is adviseable with spare tire, gas, extra parts and camping gear. Get a copy of the Milepost and study the maps carefully. It's all paved except the Yukon section. They'll be allowed to take a handgun from the U.S., thru Canada and back into the U.S., however the gun and it's ammo will be sealed at the Canadian checkpoint and un-sealed crossing back into the U.S. (Alaska). Don't know what the gist of the new Canadian gun owners law will have on Alaska Hwy travellers though. Coming back on the ferry boats is easy, just click on this link http://www.akferry.com/pages/winter.html
