This foolish (pun) debate on taking Social Security benefits at age 62 or 65 should have been buried long ago by anyone who can count to 10 without using fingers or a keypad. I calculated it would take me at least 12 more years to make up the 20% difference if I waited till age 65, so I opted out at 62. Even without putting that money to use, I would be at least 74 years old before I broke even. In the meanwhile, I am making an easy 30-50% annually on my money in the market. So, duh!!! Take the money and run, run, RUN IT UP!!!!
