My brother was telling me that the wording on the fed tax extension form says the following:Make your estimate as accurate as you can with theinformation you have. If we later find that the estimate wasnot reasonable, the extension will be null and void. What does this mean ? If I input all the info I have into TURBOTAX which shows me that the IRS owes me a refund of $3,000 and I file an extension with a check for $6,000 (just to cover myself in case I made a date entry mistake), is my estimate not reasonable ?Hey, I do not have the time in the next few weeks to check all the entries, I would rather send a check now (to cover myself), and get that refunded back with my normal refund I expect.
