my company was acquired in mid 2000.I had accumulated a number of non-qualified stock options over a period of 5 years . All the options were cashed out at the settlement of the merger at a significant increase over the option prices . Consequently , I have a significant increase in income and a substantial tax bill . Is there anything I can do now for relief, i.e averaging , or is too late ? help . et
