I read an interesting article talking about Stephen King and his demand for an apology from the governor of Maine regarding the latter saying he had moved out of the state to avoid paying state income taxes (or something like that).

King said he still pays Maine taxes, and said he paid $1.4 million in 2013 and roughly the same in 2014.

Is there a way to figure out what he therefore earned for those years given that information? Just curious; I also want to compare what sites like Forbes estimates he earns against a figure derived from that bit of information. Perhaps there is a Fool article in this for one of the writers.

King also pointed out he gives between $3 million and $5 million to charities. Don't know how this would affect the calculation.
