Dear TMF_Taxes -

Answering a question on the AFQ board, I directed the questioner to the Tax Strategies page

-- but when I went and looked for myself, I noticed that it was NOT OBVIOUS where to find information on the LATEST changes to the long-term cap gains holding periods.

F'rinstance the first two links that I tried on the above page ("Cap Gains Tax Changes" and "Taxpayer Relief Act") did not exactly answer my main question: "What is the holding period required to get the lowest cap gain tax rate".

So... please point me to that answer (so that I can point the NEXT questioner to the right place) and/or consider adding a few words to the older explanations of the 1997 rulings to make it clear that the long-term hold rate is again 12 months+ .

Thanks for your consideration -

- Danny

PS: And apologies if this is clearly explained on those pages - since I knew the answer already, I didn;t exactly read those pages with great care, just wanted to see if the 'most recent change' was mentioned in an obvious and prominent place.
