Hello Fools...
I am doing some research for my son 21 yrs...who is employed part time at a hospital and was recently offered a tax sheltered annunity 403b plan..thru Met Life or Fideltiy.. I read thru the prospectus somewhat (its so long!) and i see he is offered choices...One of which is a index 500, which seems the best to me..

However,
Since they do charge a fee for this service (which I am not sure exactly what it is yet ..2%.?) I am thinking it may be better for him to save his $ and open up a self directed ROTH IRA.. On the other hand is may not have the disipline to actually do this, so therefore the forced saving annuity may be better for him...So my question is.... are annunity's a good deal ? How does he decide which is better for him?

thanks very much for any insight...
Debbie
