I need to fill in a tax return for 2 states. I've used TurboTax before and it worked well for single state tax returns.

I'm curious as to how well multiple State Tax Returns are handled by Turbo Tax. From what I see TurboTax Deluxe gets you only one State free. Do I have to buy TurboTax State for the additional State ? For the 2nd State, do I have to re-enter the Federal Tax Info, or will it automatically pick it up from the Federal return without interfering with the 1st state tax return ?

I believe HR Block's TaxCut used to provide multiple states free in previous years, but not any more. Is that correct ?

It seems like most tax SW is not really set up well to handle multi state tax returns, unfortunately.

Thanks for any help.
