I am using taxcut to file my taxes this year. They ask about last years taxes. I have several questions pertaining to this.

1. What importance does this have to this years taxes?

2. My wife and I got married this year, so last year we filed singled. However TaxCut only asked for my one set of information. How are we supposed to handle calculating this.

3. My wife had her taxes done at H&R block. I filed mine over the phone. She kept her tax info...I can't find mine (I know, this is not a good which will change this year) I do I find out my tax info for last year.

Thank you for any replies.
