I posted this on the Ask a Foolish Waiter board but, having discovered this board, thought it worth repeating.

Over the weekend I was listening to a radio talk show devoted to wines and food. I missed the very beginning of the segment, but there appears to be a business that started buying Napa Cabs (and now other wines too) for resale to the public at their prime 6-10 years down the road. (Statistics show that 82% of wine is consumed within 6 hours of purchase.) They are based in Napa and will ship to the 17 states that it is legal to do so.
They are also making arrangements with some of the other states to pay the local sales tax and do other things to entice these states to make allowances for them to ship.

Ambrosia Wine is the name of the company, and they will be having a web site in the near future, but until then their phone number is 1-800-435-2225. Their web site will be www.ambrosiawine.com although they gave no date as to when it would be up and running.

There is a web site, but it is not yet fully operational. You can order a catalog.
