I have to echo the sentiments of someone who expressed his gratitude to you all for the insight and advice you are willing to share.

I was displaced from a job about a couple of years ago. Because I had to make some decisions, I began to realize that I had more money than I expected to ever have in my life, and I think that I just might not have to work 'til my dying day.

However, until I started reading this board, I was rolling merrily (and ignorantly) along, using the many calculators available, not thinking about things like declines in the market and the need to take more control of my investments. (I am an EXCELLENT saver, but almost clueless investor.)

I have a notebook in which I jot down ideas to think about, actions to take, etc. based on what I read here.

So thanks to all of you for sharing your dreams, experience, and expertise. Someday maybe I will have some of my own to share.
