My first post to a Fool Board has helped me immensely. I am not sure of the protocol for this, but I want to thank Bruce CM, Calvin-Alaskack, Marco and any future members that reply. Your professional help made all the calculations much easier. We are now able to make a much more informed decision. The 75% Benefit Option from CalSTRS was enticing, but not all that cost efficient. After running all the numbers to get the pertinent ratios, I think we will stay with the 50% benefit option, increase the amount we invest, and look into a cash-value life policy.
