I have a follow-up question: You write: "Losses on stocks are capital losses and are netted against other capital gains."As I was not planning to sell any of my profitable stocks, I don't have any capital gains to pair the loss with...I just got into the stock market this year, bought 7 stocks, and have nothing over a year old.Would it be advisable to sell a winner along with the loser, to offset the gain with a loss?Thank You for your help.
