Thank you so much for the useful advice. I'm usually a very trusting person till I get burned so I will be very careful when choosing an agent (if that's the way I want/need to go). I have the "Writer's Market" book which is a pretty good reference, but nowhere does any publisher state that an agent is needed. Not even Random House or Avon. I had a totally different impression about agents - that only the monied people got them. I really appreciate this advice. If you'd like to email me, I'm at: Feel free.
