Thank you very much for your detailed, clear explanation. You are quite welcome.I clearly made a large error and lost the interest you cited.Given the current financial climate, you haven't lost all that much. It wasn't $3000 for a year, but $750 for 3 months, $1500 for 3 months, $2250 for 3 months, and the entire $3000 for another 3 months. At 1.5%, I make that to be a little over $28. And if you took investment money off the table to make the estimated tax payments, you probably came out ahead!could you advise how I can send a direct POST to you in the futureIf you reply to a message on these boards, there are some boxes at the very bottom of the page. The box that's checked by default is "Post this Reply to the Boards". If you just leave everything alone, your reply will be posted publicly. But below that it says "E-Mail this Reply to the Author". If you check that, you'll also send an e-mail to the author of the post you're replying to. In particular, if you reply to one of MY posts and check that box, I'll get an email. (If you UNcheck the other box, the reply will be private - it won't be posted.) I generally respond to emails, though please understand that my advice is sometimes off the mark. Lorenzo
