Thank your very much Pauleckler, Brucecm and Greg (Watty56). I really appreciate the time you take to help me.

With regard to hidden fees: I have no experience with finances so I don’t know if I’m getting hit with any hidden fees, but I checked my balance on 1/1/08 and on 12/31/08 and it has gone up exactly 4%. I called ING and they said that I am not being charged any fees and that since I was in prior to 2004, the 4% is guaranteed as long as I want it. But they also told me some things that were not true such as that New York State will step in to help me if ING goes under.

Is there a way I can keep tabs on ING to see if they are getting into deep trouble?
