Thanks all! Good info on the new iMac and backup.

I run a partitioned 4 TB external USB 3 G hard drive, and use a 2 TB partition for TM, as well as a 1 TB partition for CCC cloning. Works like a charm.

H~Are you using a Voyager? My old Voyager works great. Got another one and returned it three times to OWC and it always only works one time and dies. Last return they decided it was the cord and just replaced that. Still did not work.

Good to know the new iMac is "awesome". As for Aperture/Lightroom, although I am an avid Photoshop user, I decided on Aperture and love it.

Gordon, thanks for the Windows info. I have not really discussed what need for Windows she might have. I guess that Parallels is what I will recommend if she needs it. Maybe she can keep her old Dell for Windows.

As expected you have all come through for me...as a matter of fact, I may get an iMac myself if Apple does not come up with a new MacPro and if the price for that is too prohibitive.

Hulbs...thanks for the link to CaptureOne Pro. Will be giving that a trial. Would like to find out more about tethering (in the field)...tried it with my 64GB iPad via USB and it could not handle the transfer of files so large...and then try to delete them all.
