Thanks, CAT
Yes, I saw the recent Discovery program wherein the presenters gave their views on what could have happened to cause the ICEman to be found in the condition that he was and how he was killed. I also saw the CAT scans that showed the arrowhead in his left shoulder. The doctors who evaluated the images believe that the arrowhead could have penetrated the major artery that exists in that part of the upper body.
My major gripe with the social "scientists" who keep trying to describe ancient man as gentle flower children who lived in peace and harmony with other early man...
Given that most primitive groups still extant are reputed to be pretty fierce warriors that make ritual or actual war on the their neighbors regularly, in my opinion it is much more likely that they avoided each other but were not at all slow about killing those who strayed too far into an opposing group's territory.
Other evidence is that in many languages the word for stranger is also the word for enemy. Example: Apache (the Native American tribes) of the Southwest. The word Apache is "enemy in, I think Navaho or other local language.
Other recent archeological evidence points to systematic cannibalism among some tribes of North American natives.
Interesting stuff.
