Thanks for letting me vent here so I didn't go out and do something really really stupid.

In a way, that's why we are all here. A sounding board of "friends" who are not personally invested is a wonderful thing which I think we all can use at times.

You have given me lots of food for thought, too. I, too, "need practice" interacting socially. I can safely say, that prior to discovering the Fool boards, especially the Baby Boomers board, which I consider my Fool "home," I was well on my way to extremely dysfunctional hermit-ism. I have shared ups and downs, frustrations and humor, on these boards, and in doing so discovered that (1) it did not hurt (much)(usually), and (2) once I had shared some things here, I was then better able to open my mouth and communicate with friends, relatives and coworkers. I have also listened and learned, about things financial (which, after all, is what brought me here in the first place) and all manner of other things to broaden my perspective.

Any way, ellaluna, I'm glad you shared your problem with us, and gave us all a chance to think about how we feel about flirting and dating and all those other scary things, and a safe place to discuss them.

*don't want to date, but would love to have someone to live with and share my life with.... How the heck do you get from here to there!
