For us:
Ohio - Only applied to silver marketplace plans

We have a Silver plan now, no subsidy. Next year we should be getting a subsidy, so we should be good. May go to a bronze plan just in case our income goes over. Or a gold plan might be attractive.

If you're healthy, you want to live in one of the 11 states where they only jack up the premiums on the Silver Plans to make up for the loss of the CSRs, then buy a Bronze Plan. There'll be a larger difference in the monthly cost between the Silver and Bronze plans. That will allow Bronze Plan buyers to realize a higher taxable income while maintaining a trivial monthly Obamacare premium.

2018 is shaping up to be a banner Obamacare year for early retirees who can manager their taxable income.

Well . . . at least in terms of health insurance. Of course Trump might start a global nuclear Armageddon in 2018, so it's not all good.
