Thanks for your take and objectivity. I don't think anyone meant to be hostile actually-I just felt a little attacked-which is due to my own sensitivity! Perhaps my post came off as being something that I did not intend it to be. My planning for retirement has never taken into account a inheritance-but it's information that I'd like to know if indeed if that information was presented to me-as it has been casually in conversations with my father. Also my parents are in their 70's. But what I'm getting is that future unknowns as long they remain unknown are not to be counted on in anyway. I'm extremely close with my parents and my father has acted as a quasi financial adviser/mentor/advice giver for some time now. Being such a practical guy I guess eventually if he feels like it is relevant for my planning he will go into more details then he has presented thus far. Again thanks Jafo!
