Thanks Ivan

$1.2 million paid in for cards not redeemed...not only does the cash come in up front but a percentage of them don't get redeemed at all. Pure profit.

One of my responsibilities in my first corporate job ever was tracking redemptions of coupons. They used to have an animal called "immediately redeemable coupons", you tear them right off the box and redeem them at the cashier as you buy the most, 50-60% of them were redeemed. Go figure. Then every now and again when we figured very few more coupons were coming in for redemption, we would release the remaining accruals for profits, a very subjective art and one followed closely by the profit planners you can be sure.
