No, I am not retiring. I am leaving an employer to begin self-employment. Can you write a bit more about what you mean by "safe money market fund?" As I wrote before I am at the beginning of my learning curve when it comes to taking care of my own money. I like the idea of parking the IRA somewhere for a few months while I study and put together an approach. Safe alternatives for short term parking is what I am looking for now. And I need to know how I do this. For example, when I understand what a safe money market fund is, I think this is something I can do through a discount broker. Your clarification, and comments from others would help.
