Thanks, Loki, but I have no delusions of grandeur!

After a really terrible first half of the year, in which I moved to LA only to end up working for an employer who didn't have the money to pay his employees, I was lucky enough to take the Fool up on one of its sidebar "work for fools!" links. They were looking for writers, I had plenty of time to write, and it turned out they were looking for almost exactly the stuff I could write about best: general personal financial and estate planning. It's been great so far and has let me work flexible hours, which lets me spend more time with my 18-month-old daughter and work from home.

It also let me get the heck out of LA and to a part of the country I love: the Berkshires of western Massachusetts. Beautiful and with a lower cost of living!

Thanks again for the well-wishes, and don't think I'll be abandoning the board any time soon!
