thanks Matthew--good discussion. I can add nothing--most of it went over my head.Simple-minded takeaway for me is are treasuries doomed to pay less than 3% for a good long while? That's a terrible price to pay for supposed security and risk free investment. Keeps those of us looking for income scrounging through higher risk than we really want to take on. One side effect of QE has been pushing people who might want to be careful savers into no returns or or excessive risk. Not sure how government debt relates to that.
