Thanks, Richard and thanks to everyone stopping by and, hopefully, posting your thoughts, insights and questions.

Among the topics I look forward to pursuing on this board include but aren't limited to:

Various types of cast iron cookware;
Various brands of cast iron;
Various means of cleaning, removing rust and effectively seasoning cast iron;
Vintage cast iron cookware identification, valuation and company history;
Various means of cooking on/in cast iron cookware;
Cast iron recipes for different types of cooking, such as campfire, stove top, etc.

A poster on another board asked me to start a thread on a vintage Griswold 1908 waffle iron I recently bought and have been cleaning up and seasoning. He expressed an interest in obtaining a cast iron Pizzelle maker and wanted to know how readily waffles might release from the cast iron waffle maker. These are some photos of the waffle iron I'm working on:

Before - as purchased:

One plate, after cleaning the gunk from it and removing the rust:

After seasoning:

I hope you will chime in and I look forward to your posts!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Please sit a spell and chat a bit, if you would.
