That article is making a big thing out of absolutely nothing. I have a surface, the only ads I have seen are in the news, finance, weather, sports, and some free third party apps. The first four are all powered by Bing, so why wouldn't there be ads? These ads are also placed in a way that thy are the very last thing you will navigate to while in the app those three apps. I can also just choose to not use those 4 apps, which happens to be the case as there are better third party apps already out. It is also important to note that some third party apps are much worse in the number of ads and their placement than the 4 Bing apps.
