Is there a way I can keep door-to-door salespeople from coming to my door? Today it was the dish cable guy. A couple of weeks ago there was some high school kid who talked me into buying a subscription from her, which came to $70, which I promptly canceled after realizing my folly in feeling sorry for the kid.

Would a "No Soliciting" sign on the front door work? Or a sign at the end of the driveway? Do most people even know what the word "soliciting" means? What would you do?
