Wow. This Timothy O'Sullivan lived a very interesting life to get all these shots in the span of only a few years. He started as a photographer in the Civil War and got some iconic shots there before recording the opening of the American West.

Looks like he died in 1882 from tuberculosis at about age 42, but it was quite a run while it lasted.
