The BATFE told gun store owners to let the sales go through even though the owners knew these were dirty deals. The store owners were told that they were assisting with an ongoing investigation and wouldn't be held liable. Of course the second the shtuff hit the fan the feds started pointing fingers at... yup, the gun store owners.

The BATFE could have stopped the sales from the get go, they specifically opted not to.

Fast and Furious was an entirely 0bama-era program. Other similar programs were run under Bush but anything traced back to "Fast and Furious" is all on Team 0bama.
