The beginning of the American Revolution was over taxes. The English Monarch imposed such burdensome taxes on the People of America, that they were being driven into poverty in a new world of fabulous wealth and resources.

This is nonsense. The issue wasn't "burdensome" taxes. It was lack of representation in government. The colonists objected to being taxed by a parliament in which they were not directly represented. They wanted their rights as Englishmen. In fact, the most onerous taxes, The Stamp Act, levied to pay for the Seven Years War, were repealed a decade before the American Revolution began and the Tea Act actually lowered the price of tea in the colonies.
