The bone literally grows into the implant. Makes it hard to do another one later if you need it.

</delurk> IF you need it. Sometimes devices last longer than the average. And technology changes. There may be other alternatives available to you by that time.

Life it too short to suffer that much pain just to avoid a replacement you may or may not need down the road.

Also, something else could happen before the replacement degrades. Car accident. Plane crash. A different, fatal health issue. Any number of things. Then your current suffering to extend the replacement lifespan would have been for naught.

My vote - get it done now. Live life now.
