The Braves' move out of Turner Field looks fortuitous now. MARTA ridership was up 25% Friday as a result of the bridge collapse. This week the organization has turned out volunteers at stations to help the anticipated ridership. The fact that it is storming heavily this morning won't help the traffic situation either.

I take the train to the airport too sometimes, but it's not as economical as it used to be. It takes 45 minutes in transit, plus the 20m you have to wait for the train because you inevitably arrive just as it leaves the station. Then there's the cost of overnight parking which rivals what is charged offsite by the airport.

I could use ride sharing, but the last time I used Uber, they stranded me at a restaurant after deciding my credit card was no longer valid (the restaurant didn't have any issues), and the last time I used Lyft, their primetime gouging tripled my rate and then they wanted a tip on top of that.

Who expects Cobb is too independent to ever allow MARTA up into the northwest or I-75 corridor, where they have been constructing northern bypass highway to relieve traffic, and it's most likely money that is preventing MARTA from extending further north along GA 400 or northeast along I-85 North, something not likely to improve under the current administration...
