The claims against WalMart by the Huffington Post, Moveon.org, et.al want to make it seems like WalMart is the worst of the retailers with low pay, hourly workers, etc. However, this is not the case. many, if not most retailers today employ a lot of hourly - part-time workers. As far as salries go, this is just a sample of the averages.

WalMart - $8.82
Target - $8.29
J. C. Penney - $8.31
Gap - $8.61
Victoria's Secret - $8.20
Best Buy - 8.74
Home Depot - $9.00+
Macy's - $8.60


This is just what I suspected when I thought about the issue after watching the news coverage this evening. Why single out Walmart for low wages when there are plenty of other companies paying just as poorly... or worse? It just doesn't make any sense to me.
