The clique that has overwhelmed METAR tends to have very high opinions of themselves. They post many long, meandering posts to rationalize their beliefs. They post data, but it is almost always anecdotal (as in this post). They often reference their own previous posts to justify their current posts and to claim they had great insights long ago. They even have a tendency to refer to themselves in the third person. Despite the massive circle jerk recc'ing that goes on over there, they never seem to be right about any economic development.

In this case, the poster has managed to turn a few excerpts from a single story about a situation in a single county in Alabama into a national crisis.

So you didn't check out the NPR article that showed data that nationally the number on disability had doubled in 20 years?

Obviously this result is generated by a combination of poor national economy & demographics. But let's not let facts git in the way of a knee jerk reaction.

Yep you are correct that some folks on these boards have "very high opinions of themselves" & it ain't restricted to the METAR board.
