The color change I am familiar with has nothing to do with anything done on the MF web site. The color change is related to the specific instance of the browser I used to view the messages. Browsers maintain a local cache of recently read pages; what exactly is meant by recently depends on the browser and its settings, but for me it goes back at least couple of months. When I view messages using another computer, or using a different browser, they do not get into the cache on my usual system. When I return to my usual system the color of those messages in the list makes them appear unread, even though I did read them.
