Hi Fools,
I am currently reading this book, the authors are Harvey C. Knowles and Damon H. Perry and it is pretty interesting. The premise of the book that true "growth " can be had more readily by investing in the top 5 or top 10 dividing paying stocks which are members of the Dow Jones Industrial average and consistently reinvesting the dividends. The book is based on the investment approach of Benjamin Graham. Watching Yahoo, Qualcomm, Amazon and countless others rise and plunge without so much as paying a decent dividend, I am very interested in theis investment model. What I would like to know as I am fairly new to the stock market, my only step so far being a foray into an S & P 500 index fund, is whether or not anyone knows of an index that would track such an animal, and what are your opinions on this investment approcah? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Also, what is this I heard about in Money magazine about the S & P 500 being rigged, could this be true? Fool on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
