Peppermint Patty: These minty treats really work for me. They leave my mouth feeling clean and satisfied without feeling the need to have 5 more! While not low in calories, I don’t think that 60 calories and 11 grams of sugar for a snack size is all that bad. Try throwing them in the freezer to make them even more delicious!

Hershey’s Special Dark: As I mentioned in my snacking blog, dark chocolate can be a good go-to craving-buster. Just be sure to limit your portion: the Hershey’s miniature Special Dark is perfect!

Reese’s Mini Peanut Butter Cups: These are my all-time favorite! And they are quite tempting to me when left lurking around my house. The good news is that the peanut butter inside offsets the amount of sugar in these treats. Again, not low in calories, so when you must, limit it to 1 miniature.

Peanut M&M’s: Again, it is the peanuts in these delicious treats that help to control blood sugar. Portion out 10 of them and savor them slowly!

PayDay (or Other Peanut-Based Bar): I was shocked and pleased to see that a snack-sized “PayDay Bar” has only 8 grams of sugar, which is less than some nutrition bars! Still not what I would call a healthy snack, but not a bad option when you must...
