The futility of trying to understand that mindset with the many visable contradictions can give any thinking person a migrane.

If I heard it once, I heard it a thousand times around the dinner table: "Pay attention to your own plate." In other words, you've got enough challenge to fill your own plate. Stop peering covetously at the plates of others who have their own challenge. So why are libruls always eyeing other people's plates? Either eat from your own plate or work hard so that you have more on your plate. Seems easy peasy to me.

I guess libruls didn't have mothers who in addition to the above instilled values like...

~ God helps them who help themselves.
~ A clear conscience is the softest pillow.
~ Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
~ If the problem can be solved with money, it's not a problem.
~ If you're going to do it, don't be ashamed of it. If you're ashamed of it, don't do it.

My mother was really into pithy sayings. ;-)
