...The IRA option is not eliminated. The only thing eliminated is the deductible traditional IRA.....

I believe that this changed a few years ago, not even if you have an employer pension plan the traditional IRA can still be deductable if your AGI income isn’t too high, see the worksheet 1-2 on page 23
