The Mets counter offer is ridiculous. That said, they likely have no intention of re-signing him.If another team comes with bona fide major league prospects I'd say he's going to be traded. However given where pitcher's contracts are, a $26MM two year extension is extremely cheap when placed alongside his production over the past three years and compared to the contracts of other, less productive pitchers.
