After making a couple of happy discoveries in that last week, I thought I'd combine some of the Mexican food threads here.
The first one I remember is this one:

And then some updates were posted here:

And now for a coupla newer entries:
There's a place in downtown Phoenix (14th St and Roosevelt) called Rito's. It's pretty famous, but it's basically someone's house. It is now in its second generation, and with the second generation being rich and lazy, the menu has been cut down to burros and not much else.
Well, apparently a cook from Rito's has taken the recipes and opened his own place, called Lito's! It's at 4720 W. Olive Ave (aka NW corner of 47th ave and Dunlap), Glendale 85302. 623-930-0458. Tues - Sat 10am to 7:30 pm. Cash only. The recipes and food are identical to Rito's, except they've got everything Rito's doesn't serve anymore: burros, chimis, tacos, tastadas, enchildas, combo meals, etc. They even have tables inside, room for at least ten people. If you're on the west side, it's worth finding. It's not fancy, but the food is worth it, the real deal.
I was recently introduced to El Minuto Cafe in Tucson. 354 South Main Ave, Tucson, 85701. 520-882-4145. It's just south of the convention center, almost in its shadow. Great food, table service and waiters, take your mom.
