The NRA has become complicit in creating and arming the wolves, all in the quest of the almighty dollar.

And how did they do that?

By supporting universal background checks?

By telling the truth about the "gun show loophole" (i.e. the fact that exactly the same regulations apply at gun shows that apply everywhere else, while the enforcement level is at least equal and probably higher)?

By pointing out absurdities in proposed gun control laws (such as banning a certain gun with a black plastic stock but leaving the same gun with a woodgrain plastic stock legal, as if the color of the plastic actually made any difference)?

By laughing at efforts to ban categories of weapons that don't actually exist?

By quoting people who claim that they "don't want to seize all firearms" explicitly saying, on other occasions before different audiences, that they do want to seize all firearms?

By correcting gross factual errors about firearms from gun-control advocates, such as calling the 22LR cartridge (perhaps the weakest sort of rifle ammunition in common use in the US) "high-powered"? (Note that, in accordance with its weakness, it is also among the cheapest and therefore among the most commonly used for things other than big-game hunting.)

By pointing out that the weapons certain gun-control advocates use as examples of why whole classes of guns should be banned are ALREADY banned and also not representative of the classes?

By putting together a gun-safety training program for preschoolers, that teaches them to leave guns alone and go tell an adult? Having that program tested and proving that it is effective? And offering to provide it free of charge to any school or preschool that is willing to accept it?

By explaining that criminals break laws, and can be expected to break gun control laws, so those laws - at best - only disarm the law-abiding?
