The only people who would pay more would be the rich, the same people who have seen their federal taxes go down since the 80's.


Yadda, yadda, yadda. The same old song and dance. Bash the rich: "They need to pay more than their fair share b/c they're RICH!". When did it become a crime to be rich? Is not the American Dream (in large part) to become rich? It is a fact of life that there has always been poor, middle class and rich people and that fact ain't gonna change. It doesn't change in Communism (they deny it, but there is still a class system of the have's and have not's) and it sure ain't gonna change in America.
Just b/c you have money doesn't mean that you "owe" anything more than the next guy. Our country was founded on FREEDOM, period. If I have money and want to give it away, good for me. If I have money and want to horde it, good for me. I am FREE to do what the heck I choose. It ain't my fault someone else doesn't have it as good as me or someone has a better monetary life than me. The "rich must pay more" attitude is one of many things that has infected this country. We have become a society of "give me something for nothing, it's my RIGHT". BullHockey! The only "right" we're given, is a slap on the @ss at birth and told "you're FREE to go make something of yourself".
